One of the most exciting things about building a new neighborhood is learning about the traditions, events, and all of the things that make the area a place people want to live. We recently learned about one such tradition in historic downtown Monument that brings the art and retail community together in a way that only a small town can. The Monument Small Town Art Hop is held on the third Thursday (June 16, July 21, August 18, and September 15) of each month May through September, offering a fantastic sampling of the galleries, restaurants and boutique retail shops that serve as a pleasant reminder about the artistic and culinary creativity thriving in downtown Monument. The featured businesses stay open until 8pm for a celebration of things like book signings, dining features and specials, art openings, live music and more. To learn more about the Monument Art Hop and the participating merchants, visit their online calendar of events at www.monumentarthop.org. As we begin to welcome our first Residents to Forest Lakes, we will continue to share interesting community events and news from the surrounding areas. Life in Forest Lakes is truly spectacular.
